Chaucer’s ‘The General Prologue ‘begins with the description of which season and why? [British Poetry]
Chaucer's "The General Prologue" to The Canterbury Tales begins with a description of the month of April. April is chosen as the starting point of the story because it is the beginning of spring and a time of renewal and rejuvenation. Chaucer uses this imagery to set the tone of the journey and the pilgrimage that the characters are about to undertake, as well as to introduce the idea of a fresh start and new beginnings.
